This is the second time this has happened in a period of 18 months. Last year I lost my baby at 18 weeks gestation and was told then that the chances of this happening again was very low. I was also advised tests would be carried out by gynaecology due to ongoing pain.
I eventually had scans completed August 2022 and was advised I would have further scans carried out. The pain became worse and worse and I contacted my GP again. Who then contacted gyneacology again and by this time was 1 year later.
I then received a letter apologising for an "admin error" with my results taking one year to be given to me and was advised their plan was to complete tests again due to concerns found in the initial scan. To this date I still have not seen any other members of staff from gynaecology. An appt letter was sent out to see gynaecologist in Jan 2024 and has since been cancelled and rescheduled for March 2024. So following my initial visit with gynaecology I have now waited 19 months.
However to add to my heartbreak I lost my second baby Oct 2023. No warning no signs. I had received early scans and on my 11 week scan my baby had no heartbeat. I was advised by the consultant who confirmed this that I would receive a follow up appointment with her to discuss this and have tests completed.
I have had no feedback regarding this. I have contacted triage on two occasions to request this and also my GP has requested this as she also agreed further tests and explanations should be sought. I am currently in agony with ongoing pain in my stomach and it is unknown what is causing this and I am unable to see or speak to anyone regarding this. I am unsure what my future holds as to future children and I feel very disappointed by the NHS in relation to all of the above.
Can I please add the midwifery care I received during both my heartbreaking times in University Hospital Wishaw was outstanding and I cannot thank the midwives enough for the care and compassion they showed me and my partner.
