"Fantastic maternity service and support"

I was treated by the fantastic maternity team in Antrim Hospital delivery suite and theatre. My midwife Rachel was absolutely amazing and made me feel so supported and informed throughout my whole labour. I encountered some complications and ended up needing an emergency c-section. I was supported incredibly well and the communication from the team to both myself and my husband was first class. Sister Catherine  and midwifes Rachel and Lynne worked together extremely well and made me feel so safe. They worked so hard but always took time to chat to me. My anaesthetic team of Michael and Jonny were really who made the difference during my c- section. They continually kept me informed of what was happening and responded instantly when I complained of any symptoms needing controlled. In particular I can't thank Michael enough. He talked to me constantly and explained everything so well. He even made me smile and laugh during an emergency c- section which kept me going. Midwife Janet looked after me so well in recovery overnight and was a ray of sunshine. She was so happy and I felt so comfortable overnight with her and my newborn daughter. 

Overall, despite it being an emergency and things not going quite as planned they all stayed so professional and calm. My surgeon Dr Doherty made me feel involved and respected with all decisions made about my care. The entire experience although scary is overwhelmingly positive due to the fantastic team that looked after me, my husband and my new daughter. Thank you all so much!
