"Thank you all so much for giving my daughter such a positive experience"

My 7-year-old daughter had a fall, which caused a significant laceration to her chin area. 

We arrived in A&E reception to be welcomed by a gentleman on reception that was very friendly, the lady on the other desk could see my daughter was visibly shaking and upset and took time out of her busy workload to show empathy and kindness towards her, giving her a selection box to cheer her up! This worked a treat! 

We didn't have to wait long before we were shown to a bay in the Minor Injuries section. A Trainee Emergency Nurse Practitioner (I think her name was Rachel) was absolutely fabulous. She delivered person-centred care to my daughter, speaking directly to her in a very child friendly and age appropriate manner. This really helped my daughter to reel safe and not as scared. 

My daughter was swiftly treated with glue and paper stitches and we were provided with excellent information on next steps and given leaflets for further information. All staff we came across were all just so amazing and I thank you all so much for giving my daughter such a positive experience, in what was a relatively scary situation for her. We are now back home, and she has managed to enjoy some of her selection box!
