I was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer in May of this year, which was in a form of a tumour in my Oesophagus. Since then I was in and out of Ninewells Hospital Tayside with tests and scans, My case was put to a multi-disciplinary team who I owe my greatest thanks and my life, Firstly there is Professor Petty who helped me through the pre=operation chemo treatment, along with the nurses on ward 32 . With Four Chemo treatments done , my tumour reduced enough to then be removed under the skilled hands of the surgeon Mr Patil and his team in October.
After ten days in hospital from ICU to HDU and ward 11, I was then able to go home and recover from the operation, With Ninewells Hospital support team always checking on me I am slowly but surely recovering and my journey is not over yet as I will still have chemo sessions to attend.
My wife and I would like to express our thanks to those who are helping me through this journey I am on. From the surgeon Mr Patil and his team to Professor Petty and his team and the nutrition staff Elaine and Pamela and their team. Without their dedication and help I would not be here, They are miracle workers and true professionals and deserve recognition for their hard work and professionalism. Also to wish all those a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
"Without their dedication and help I would not be here"
