Like most people with physical and mental health struggles I have good days and bad days and Louise is such an incredibly empathetic person. She has always known how best to support me on all. Whether that be sitting down and really focusing on a task, having a laugh as we go to help my mood, days I need lots of breaks or a light load due to pain or when I’m really struggling with my depression.
And with these varying days, and dips and peaks in my health, what you feel you’re capable of changes drastically. There can be a few days where I unveil big dreams I want to accomplish and then a lot of others where I feel like I am truly incapable of achieving anything. Louise has always been amazing at navigating this.
She has helped me to figure out the first steps I need to take in the now. That suit where my body and mind is currently. So that I feel I am making steps towards those big dreams. Also on those many bad days where I feel so much weaker, she knows when I need to be nudged to push myself a little further in that moment. Or when I just need a supportive word to get back to a more productive stare of mind.
She’s helped me get to a place where I can see myself taking steps towards employment and independence. A year ago, I couldn’t possibly see how I could achieve anything like this. And it is truly down to the care and support I have received from Louise.
She has known when to push me, or when to give a supportive word. Known the days where I want to knuckle down and the days where I may just need a laugh or a slower pace to get through. She has been my cheerleader and a great teacher in navigating this very daunting world. Within which, a year ago I couldn’t possibly imagine how me, as a disabled person, could ever access. Louise has had faith in me and been patient with me and seen me through a lot of ups and downs. She listened to me when I initially discussed my wants and my future dreams but also my needs and my barriers. And she has always held true to what I want to do and who I want to be and supported me in that. I’ve had an experience before meeting Louise where I thought I had been heard during the initial assessment but then immediately after was just thrown every job that would show up on Total Jobs within a 25 mile radius. It left me feeling so unsee.
Louise has never made me feel like this. She has always respected me and wants me to find the right job that will help me curate the life I want. Not just to get me into paid employment as quickly as possible no matter how wrong it is for me.
She’s helped me to analyse my barriers. To figure out how to support me with them but not only that, to see when perhaps some barriers and more perceived or inflated due to where I am with my chronic pain or mental health. But never in a way where she’s invalidated my issues. Helping me get through some deep mental hurdles.
Louise truly cares about every one of her clients and has been an invaluable help to me.
For those who are worried about asking for support under this service. Know that with Louise you are in wonderful hands.
