The reception , admin staff along with the nursing and non-surgical clinical service were welcoming, well run and efficient. My reservation is with the communication skills and communication with the surgeons. This was poor. I would recommend that Spa Medica compliments the day-to-day staff, but educates the two surgeons I met . Improved bedside manner and consultation skills would improve the service and bring this up to that provided by other staff. I had to reassure myself at a stressful time when some simple empathic words Might have helped me relax and get through the experience of eye surgery more satisfactorily. The staff seemed aware of the problem but appeared powerless to change the surgeons communication with the patient. I hope spa medical will work to improve the communication skills and empathetic approach that the surgeons are providing so that the overall nerve-racking cataract experience of the service will benefit patients in the future .
