Yesterday I had a positive hysteroscopy outpatient experience. I was very nervous having read horror stories online. Whilst the procedure was uncomfortable, I experienced very little pain, and any pain I did have only lasted a matter of seconds. The nurses were friendly and I was allowed to take my partner into the room with me. I was spoken to throughout the procedure and it was a “treat all” type situation with my smear and coil fitting also done at the same time. I was told ahead of the procedure that I could have rebooked under general anaesthetic however I decided to give it a go without and do not feel that I would have needed general anaesthetic. It was not, for me, the medieval torture I had read it described as online
