I was induced in November 2023 - an anxiety ridden and very nerve wracking unknown to me. However, from the moment I walked into ward 48, through the labour suite, emergency c-section, then a week spent in ward 47 - I am astonished at the high standard of care from each and every single individual I spoke to. From anaesthetists to domestics to midwives, etc, etc, etc - the manner, professionalism, care, compassion, enthusiasm and kindness shown to me and my newborn baby was outstanding - not just good, outstanding. As a health professional myself, I understand the pressure we are all under in our work places, and I am astonished at the care we received.
I would like to thank each individual personally - but sadly that’s not possible! I would highlight the post labour care ward, spending a week post birth as my newborn was jaundiced, was tough in many ways. But the ward staff made the whole experience much easier with their warm, encouraging, friendly, supportive and understanding attitudes.
I’m a huge fan of the NHS, and this experience has increased this ten fold. People are quick to criticise and point out negatives, but there are so many positives, if not more, that should be high lighted.
Thank you so so much, you are all an absolute credit to the health service and should be proud of yourselves. Please ensure this is passed on to the relevant areas.
Warmest wishes,
Special thanks to -
