"Excellent care provided"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / Stroke

(as a carer),

My partner's mum was admitted recently to AMU1 at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. She had been having frequent falls and a worsening of her dementia. I cannot fault the care given to her in any way.

From the ANP who referred her, the paramedics who helped us to get a confused and scared lady to the hospital. The care and attention provided to her was exemplary. The nurses, HCA's in AMU1 all made her comfortable and the consultant Dr Davies treated her with compassion, care and thorough assessment.

She moved to ward 41 and, has thrived and moved on to respite care. But without a doubt the assessment, care and compassion showed by the team's in SAS, AMU1 and Ward 41 helped the family immensely.

At a time when we hear so much negativity about our health and social care systems. NHS Fife provided excellent care. Thank you to everyone concerned.

Dear Virgoes57

Thank you for taking the time to post your Feedback here on CareOpinion. I am really sorry to hear about your partner's mum suffering falls and also to hear of the worsening of her dementia. I can understand how worrying this must be for you all and I am sure, very frightening for this lady. It appears everyone involved in the care has made a difference and I am sure this is a relief to you and your partner

If you would like me to pass on your thanks to our crew, please may I ask you email our team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your partner's mum's name, address, and date when we attended to her. It would really helpful if you make reference to your CareOpinion username which will allow us to link up with this story

Best Wishes to you all

Lesley
