"Prostate cancer diagnosis and care"

About: The Lanarkshire Beatson University Hospital Monklands / Radiology University Hospital Wishaw / Urology

(as a relative),

Earlier this year, my husband saw a urology consultant at Wishaw General Hospital. As a result of that, he went on to have an MRI and biopsy at Monklands Hospital, where the staff, consultant and nurses, were so kind and compassionate.

All the tests showed an aggressive cancer, so a bone scan was necessary. He has just completed his radiotherapy and will continue with hormone injections.

The Lanarkshire Beatson staff were outstanding, from reception to radiographers and nurse specialists. There was always someone to help if we had any worries.

His care continues, with Emma his oncology nurse specialist only a phone call away. With so much negativity surrounding the NHS, we have to say our experience and the care provided, has been excellent. A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff.
