I have been a patient here for almost two years. The staff have been helping me to get my life back on track I have been using all my cope skills I have learnt from staff and I have also been attending off ward activities I have done loads of interesting things.
There is art + craft activities, library and a gym placement and also two shop placements. I attend meeting called a patient forum and other meetings. This helps me to take my mind of things for a while and help me to have therapeutic activities and meaningful time. I have seen lots of women move on to a lesser security hospital and people do well here and move on I have got leave privilege going to sports activities, shopping for snacks and it help me to build up my confidence in communication with the community so I can learn to do it myself when I am in community.
The LQC come to my ward the other day and i told the LQC about all of the positive, good stuff about Arnold Lodge and at the end of the meeting he summed up what I had said and ask me is there anything you would like to change on ward I said no but on reflection I would have to say I hope we can have more nurses and more staff so that the staff who work here can have a break or even go to the toilet.
The staff do a terrific job most of them want to help some say wrong thing time to time but most do want to help!
"The staff do a terrific job"
