Saw the pain management team. Really nice caring individual in first appointment. I have multiple issues caused by failed surgery. He explained I was on a pathway and I had hope for the first time in ages. Said I would see physio etc and I would have help dealing with the aftermath of the surgery.
A couple of months later I get another appointment. Was in for less than ten mins, different person. I was basically told i could choose one pain and one pain only. I felt totally lost by this, chose back and basically on a 9 month + waiting list for steroid injections.
No physio mentioned, no pathway of care. Just wait.
I am doing exercises at home, whether they are the right ones or I am doing them correctly I don't know.
I went home shocked, the clinic wasn't what I was lead to believe.
I phoned back the following Monday, asking about what happens with physio and other pain issues, was told the physio was off long term sick...and that's it. No further update, no where do I go instead, what's next. Just wait for the back injections...
I had such high hopes of actually getting help, I should have known better
"Left unsure as to what is next"
