The system seems overly bureaucratic. If I’ve reported a positive lateral flow test, and am confirmed as being highly clinically vulnerable then there shouldn’t be a need for GP/111 referral.

It’s also sad that there isn’t any available space for the infusion to be given when that’s a much more effective and single dose treatment. Quality of life should be considered when treatments are withdrawn without consultation.

The nurse was lovely and couldn’t have tried harder to sort everything out for me, and I’m very grateful to her

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback on your experience, it is appreciated to see where things arent working effectively and ways in which we can improve on this.

Over the last 2 years the process for being referred has, and still is, undergoing changes, therefore there is now the need to contact GP/111/specialist team to notify them that you have Covid and then to be referred to a CMDU.

The first line antiviral treatment comes in the form of tablets, which a lot of people find better as it means firstly not having to come into hospital when you are feeling ill and also obviously having to be canulated to receive a medication does come with a degree of risk too.

Moving forward antiviral treatment should be moving to Primary care so your GP will be able to prescribe the tablets for you.

I hope that your recovery from Covid is swift and you feel better soon.
