"NHS lothian staff psychology service"

I accessed the psychology service first in October 2022 after being unable to access mental health supports from other services for the last 5 years.  

The service has been amazing.  Every step I have been guided and supported from filling out the initial questionnaire to booking my first appointment. Every person I have spoke with from admin to the psychologists have been exceptionally kind.  

I called the service while I was on the waiting list to get an idea of where I was and was offered a phone call with Michael (I think), this was the first time I’ve ever felt that someone understands exactly what I’m feeling, it was so nice to feel normal.  

I then have had regular appointments with Lucy. Since starting the appointments I feel like a completely different person. I am now able to manage thoughts and feelings I never could have even 10 months ago.  I’ve been given practical strategies and advice that have been so helpful in improving my mental health.

I am so so grateful to this service and truly cannot thank them enough.
