My mum of 84yrs suddenly went off her feet and was very confused and was falling. The GP practice at Village Health Centre at East Leake advised us to call the Urgent Community Response Team to assess her with a view to help us manage her. I have had a knee replaced three weeks ago and am still on crutches and could not give her the physical assistance she needed. Within two days we had seen the team and been referred to the British Red Cross for much needed equipment, plus the emergency care team at the Red Cross were arranged to do x4 visits a day to keep her clean, safe and comfortable. This gives Social Services time to put a plan of care into action. We are so very grateful for their expertise and care, they were professional and caring both for us and mum.
