I went to my Nurse at the practice for my annual check up and whilst she was taking my blood pressure I was telling her how I had been feeling over the past couple of years trying to deal with my pain.
She suggested that a referral to Occupational Therapy who were based in the GP practice may be of benefit to me.
Alison was the OT who called me and I felt for the first time someone had spend longer than 7 minutes with me and that she really listened. I found this really helpful and nobody had listened to my story before.
Alison was very helpful and suggested websites for me to look at which was good. I have experienced the symptoms for a long time but always depended on medication to help me. However, Alison was really helpful and she provided guidance on how to manage my days better and cope with the fatigue. By completing the charts I was able to see what I could do and what I couldnt do and I found this a bit of a reality check.
I felt going to my OT in the practice was a great benefit and she has told me I can return at any time should I need further assistance in the future. I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
