Ilfracombe Tyrrell Community Hospital
On 24th November I came to the MIU for advice about two cracked/broken toes. The lady on reception was warm, welcoming and professional, and led me to a waiting room. Amazingly, I was seen to immediately and taken into the treatment room. The two paramedics conferred and examined my foot, agreeing to re-strap it up professionally, including a sleeve bandage to hold the whole foot secure.
Throughout, they involved me in decision making and also offered me a crutch walking stick to aid balance and security because my hip is exceedingly painful, awaiting a hip replacement. The broken toes aggravated this pain that I can barely walk, and now I cannot drive because it is the clutch foot.
Mr Carpanin gave me a letter for A&E to fast track me for further assessment, should I choose to go to the fracture clinic. Throughout, they were both considerate and professional, and ensured that they had done all that they could to support and advice me. All in all, the treatment was outstanding, quick, proficient and effective.
"Ensured that they had done all that they could to support me"
