"Long travel time"

About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

This clinic is the nearest clinic to me by some distance, however it is still over an hour away by public transport. All I require is a blood test (I cannot produce enough blood via finger prick test due to health conditions) for syphilis and HIV, but my GP informs me that this clinic is my only option. Surely a stoke city hospital can assist me? Apparently not.

Regardless, due to complications with public transportation I missed the morning walk in clinic and left after a brief and useless conversation with an unsympathetic and disinterested member of staff

Dear the man with no car,

I am very sorry to hear of your difficulty in accessing the service the day you attended. We do try to accommodate service users where possible and we should conduct a triage for those wishing to speak further with a clinician with queries or concerns they may have on the day. I'd like to apologise if you did not feel listened to. This is something I have fed back to the team to ensure that we are following the process.

If you wish to speak with me further about your experience I am very happy to do so if can email me with your name and I would like to ensure we can arrange an appointment to proceed with your blood test if you have not already had this.

Thank you for feeding back your frustrations. We value what our service users say about their experience so we can strive to continue to improve our service delivery.
