Was admitted into Lime ward in Omagh for almost a week. The staff where really lovely, caring and supportive and really approachable. There is such a massive difference in the support Omagh gives you compared to my own local inpatient unit.
Staff give me one to one sessions and extra when needed. Where ready to help with anything at all 24/7. Would of socialised with patients too. Felt really cared for and looked after. Really really hope Lime Ward nurses and support staff, dinner staff etc. are given the appreciation they deserve and hope this can be passed onto them.
I was then moved to Rathview house for a night and the staff there too where very supportive, caring and approachable. It makes a massive difference to patients when in there. Every other patient i interacted with also had brilliant words to say about the staff and how the ward is run. It wasn't not sitting in an office all day doing paperwork whereby my local inpatient unit does, its about interacting and given the patients time and what we needed.
Its the first time I've been in a hospital and felt i was actually took serious, and first time being discharged and felt i got something out of being a inpatient that being supported, cared for and most impatiently listened to.
Please give Lime Ward and Rathview house my thanks.
