"X-ray at Crosshouse Hospital"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as the patient),

Sent for a X-ray met by receptionist who was very nice but I found the number of staff standing around the desk talking about personal issues of themselves was not professional at all.

Then eventually sent into a cubicle, no explanation as for how long I had to wait. Was in there for another 40 minutes all you can hear is the staff  standing about talking.

Why are staff standing about when you have to wait so long.

Dear Salsk35,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your visit to the x-ray department at University Hospital Crosshouse, I am so sorry that you've had to highlight this issues regarding the service.

Firstly, staff have been asked previously not to congregate at the reception desk, I will ensure they are all reminded of this today.

With regards to the waiting time, it is difficult to say what the delay may have been without knowing the exact date / time of your visit and which x-ray room you were seen in. Some patients require more time in the x-ray room for the Radiographers to complete the examination, patients can also become unwell during examinations which would incur a delay. However, I agree we should have provided you with an update to how long you would be expected to wait, I will also highlight this to staff today,
