There is a three month wait list for appointments at Queen Margaret hospital near where I live and I always struggle to get appointments.

Susan happy to fit me in but at Lochgelly health centre, was fitted in there quicker. I feel that appointments should be more flexible and available as it’s difficult to get lift to and from my appointment when it’s not close to home.

Dear idjdnd, thank you for taking to time to tell us about your experience of the Sexual Health clinic. I am pleased to hear that Susan was able to see you at her clinic in Lochgelly but I am sorry to hear that you have struggled to get an appointment closer to home. Our waiting times are variable depending upon the reason for the appointment and they also vary between our different clinic sites. At Queen Margaret Hospital we currently have routine, urgent and emergency (same day) appointments on nurse clinics and routine and emergency appointments with a doctor. The current waiting time for an urgent appointment is 3 weeks, and for a routine nurse and doctor appointment is 6 and 8 weeks respectively. It is disappointing to hear that you have not been able to access a timely appointment. If you would like me to investigate this further please get in touch on 01592 729275.
