"Radiotherapy"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy Stracathro Hospital / Radiology

From the beginning when I had my first scan the system here has worked well and I have no complaints at all. Reception staff are second to none - I cannot fault them.

The only thing I would like to mention is having to go to Stracathro for the first scan. I was not happy about that. My husband has cancer too so it is not easy.

My husband can only manage to bring me to Ninewells once or twice a week and after that I depend on friends and family to bring me in.

Car parking is a big problem and I feel there is no proper signage showing the entrance and exit - this could definitely be made clearer in my opinion.

Thankyou for taking the time to post the positives and negatives relating to your treatment journey.

Within Radiology the majority of our Out Patient scans are either done on the Perth Royal or Stracathro site, this allows us the ability to ensure we can improve our response times for urgent emergency department patients and In-Patients in Ninewells. We do have a small amount of out -patient slots in Dundee, but the waiting time for these slots can be longer.

I do understand the difficulties it can be getting to Stracathro. In the future if you are not happy with the site you have been offered it is worth phoning too see if this can be moved, as we do try and accommodate individual requirements were possible.

I do note your praise of staff, and will ensure this is shared with the team
