"All the DART staff helped me grow as a person"

About: HMP Isle of Wight / Substance misuse service

(as a service user),

When I first meet the DART Team at Parkhurst I was in a dark place, my first time in Prison on a long sentence. I was a drug user.

Then DART Team started to work with me. It was the only people that paid me any attention, they was understanding and patient with me, I started in cell work, books then on to groups. All the DART staff helped me grow as a person, accept my predicament and use my time instead of serving time.

I believe I am a changed man for the better because of the staff at the DART team. Today I'm drug free and I'm a recovery champion helping others who seek help. I owe all this to DART.

Things could have been different for me without the intervention from DART. They saved me life and made me a better man in the process. Thank you.
