I was seen after a long wait by a very nice ENT surgeon, Mr. Asimakopolous and he explained in detail what surgery he felt I should have and why. Some weeks later I was admitted to the same day surgical admissions at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. The secretary Ashley who contacted me about the date of surgery and Mary the pre op nurse were both si lovely, pleasant and helpful.
I can honestly say from the morning of admission until my discharge 3 days later every single member of staff, without exception was so kind, peasant and helpful. They include Harry the CN who took my last pro-op blood sample and gave me a fab dinosaur plaster. Mary who I met very briefly. All of the theatre staff whose names I can't remember. Then to HDU unit 6 post op. Natalie, Amy, Eva, Linda, Lisa and Sophie the Dr. Who all looked after me. I know there were other people but I can't remember their names, Sorry.
I felt so well cared for and everyone was so kind and pleasant. There wasn't a single negative experience throughout the 3 days of my admission.
Thank you. I know that the last few years have lead to a lot of staff feeling unappreciated and burnt out, but thats not what I saw. Great Job.
