I was admitted for emergency gallbladder surgery. On my 2nd day, the surgeon advised I was to be discharged, a decision I didn't agree with. Danielle, one of the nurses, was more than happy to facilitate a conversation between the surgeon and myself and the decision was made that I was to stay in in case a space was made available.
As it turns out this did happen and I was given my surgery. The nursing team before and after my surgery were truly wonderful, as was the surgeon himself, Mr Keoffman.
I had a couple of bank nurses through the nights who were super comforting and couldn't do enough for me in terms of sorting painkillers, helping me to get changed into a clean gown after a wound leak and even making sure I was comfortable going to the toilet for the first time post surgery. Danielle worked closely with Grace, a nursing student who will make a wonderful nurse. She has a lovely caring nature and she will be so kind to her future patients.
Everyone on Ward 52 was lovely, chatty, comforting and I couldn't have asked for a better team to look after me during a confusing, painful time! Please pass on my compliments to them all!
