I was on a bus, and felt pressure on my right eye for a short period. My wife saw that my right eye was bloodshot.
I called 111 who were helpless and hopeless - they told me to go to an opticians at a branch 50 miles away. They gave me a telephone number to call. I called the opticians who were very suprised that the 111 operator had referred me. They couldn't give me an appointment for a few days, and referred me to the Treliske Emergency Eye Care Department.
I went to Treliske and the service was excellent. I was seen quickly by a specialist nurse who checked my sight and blood pressure. (All good!)
I was given an appointment for a follow up in a few days. I was reassured by the nurse.
I went for a check-up, had my sight checked, and eye examined. No problems were found and I was discharged.
At every stage within Treliske I was dealt with quickly by a professional in whom I had absolute confidence. Thank you Louisa.
