"Very professional but friendly"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended this department yesterday for breast surgery. From the second I entered the department, the staff - from reception to pre-theatre, theatre and aftercare -  were superb.  I felt very well looked after by all of the nurses (Melissa and Cheryl being the only names I can remember but there were a few more), Louise and Graham the anaesthesiologists along with their nurse, who put me at ease and especially my surgeon, Ms McIlhenney, who I’m sure is an angel in disguise. All the staff are very professional but friendly and empathetic with it. This makes such a difference to patients when they are feeling at their most vulnerable. I can’t thank them all enough.

Dear Apprec1at1ve Pat1ent,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Day Surgery on Care Opinion.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital for a procedure and I am so pleased that when you were feeling your most vulnerable, our friendly and professional team of nurses and consultants were able to put you at ease and reassure you.

It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and I would be delighted to share your kind words and feedback with the whole team. I will ensure Ms McIlhenney, Louise. Graham, Melissa and Cheryl also received the well deserved recognition and praise you have kindly provided.

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
