Within the last few weeks, unfortunately both my daughter and myself have had to use the MAU and the MIU at the Vale of Leven Hospital, and all I can say is thank you.
MAU - a routine GP appointment seen me sent to the MAU for a check up on a busy lunchtime, I can say the care was fantastic. Dr Tom, the nurses, Laura and sorry I never caught the other lady's name, HCA Melissa and the radiographers. All put me at ease and the care was second to none. ECGs, chest x-rays, IVs, everything was done in the quickest time and I left with a mountain of antibiotics and Dr Tom's warnings ringing in my ears to return straight away if I felt unwell and I knew that I would be in capable hands if that occurred. Thank you so much.
MIU - Unfortunately not a week after my visit to the MAU, my young daughter split her chin open at swimming and we had to attend the MIU. ANP Linda and HCA Kristina(?) - wow. As a worried parent, ANP Linda and Kristina went above and beyond. My daughter can be wary of new people and as you can imagine, when in pain, not keen on being poked and prodded. ANP Linda was fantastic. Spoke to my daughter on her level, explained everything to her in a child appropriate manner and took everything at her speed. This resulted in my daughter trusting her and allowing her to clean and glue the wound without getting upset, which is no mean feat.
As a parent I can't say thank you enough. Knowing how my daughter can react and seeing how she reacted in ANP Linda's care means the world to me. Linda took her time and didn't once force my daughter to do anything she felt uncomfortable doing, and although this approach might mean we took a bit longer I can't tell you how appreciated it was. Kristina was also great and tried to make my daughter laugh and gave stickers at the end which cheered her right up. Thank you both for taking such good care of my daughter.
Thank you to everyone who has provided care to myself and my family. You are all wonderful people. I hope we don't have to use the services again (although they do say these things come in 3's...) but I know if we do, we will be well looked after. Thank you again everyone.
PS I'm so glad these services are on our doorstep and we didn't have to travel to RAH or RHC.
"Excellent experience"
