My son was admitted with RSV and gastroenteritis recently and was admitted for oxygen therapy. The nurses, ward sisters, students and auxiliaries were absolutely amazing!
It was a scary and anxious time for us and a stressful time for staff too, but they never let it show and it didn’t effect their care they gave to not only my son but to me as well! Nothing was too much for them!
My son's consultant, Dr Courtney, goes above and beyond for him every time she sees and looks after him. She takes the time to make him smile and gain his trust and makes sure I fully understand the treatment plan and answers any questions I have no matter how silly they are (and there can be a lot of questions lol).
I cannot forget the play therapists! Keeping a toddler entertained and resting in a bed is not for the faint hearted, but it was like Christmas morning for him with the amount of toys they gave him and even took the time to play peekaboo with him.
I hope to never need another admission with my son but as he has recurrent lung problems this is probably likely, but I will be rest assured he will be in amazing hands with all the staff on Craig and Maynard! They always remember him and make such a fuss over him! They are all absolute angels!
"The staff were absolutely amazing!"
