"Every single person involved in his care went above and beyond"

About: General practices in Tayside General Surgery / General Surgery (Ward 7 & 8) Ninewells Hospital / Urology

(as a parent/guardian),

2 weeks ago my son required an emergency appointment at our GP Practice (Townhead Practice, Montrose) which resulted in him being referred to Ward 7, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, for assessment.

Less than an hour later he was in the operating theatre for an emergency operation before spending a night in Ward 27, Urology.

Thanks to the quick actions of our GP and the surgeon at Ninewells my son had his op and made a full recovery. 

The care he received throughout was superb - from the GP, the nurse that looked after us in the assessment ward, the consultant, the anaesthetist, the theatre nurse, the surgeon and all the nurses on the hospital ward, every single person involved in his care went above and beyond to make sure he (and I) were OK. I can’t speak highly enough of them all!

Feedback is very valuable to all areas of the NHS, and I'm sure the practice staff at Townhead Practice will be delighted to hear that your family's experience there has been positive. As each GP Practice is an independent business, we would recommend that you feedback your experience directly to the practice to allow this to be passed on to the staff. The Practice Manager can give you with details of how to provide this feedback to them, as per their Complaints and Feedback Policy.

I'm pleased to hear your son made a full recovery following surgery and hope he's feeling much better now.
