I have been an alcoholic for almost all my life. I come from a long line of alcoholics, sadly .
I had managed to stay sober following a detox and inpatient treatment programme for eight years. Unfortunately I slipped into bad habits and ended up resorting to using alcohol again.
I engaged with inclusion on the Isle of wight at the beginning of this year. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been plain sailing. But , with the help of the team at inclusion Isle of Wight life is getting so much better.
The support is strong, the recognition of individual needs from the staff is second to none. The courses run are enjoyable, friendly, informative and so helpful in gaining an understanding of this horrible disease. From the reception staff, to volunteers, to the programme facilitator's and just generally all of the staff, nothing is too much of a problem for them to help you. Their help and guidance is so important.
But even more importantly, they build trust, support, and a group ethic that supports everyone, regardless of absolutely anything. Andy, our facilitator is so knowledgeable, responsive to needs and clear in all aspects of his tutoring. I actually look forward to each of my sessions. Wanting to learn more and develop as a sober individual, trying to be the best that I can. That is all thanks to inclusion Isle of Wight. A fantastic team, of individuals always happy to take time to help. Thank you.
