After being admitted recently to AU1 I was transferred to ward 22 the following day where I spent around 10 nights in the renal ward.
I just want to say a massive thank you to the staff there who made me feel at ease, they were so helpful and nothing was ever too much.
From the domestics who came in during the day, auxiliary nurses, staff nurses, students, doctors, physio and dieticians, everyone was polite and attentive.
Natalie and Carly made me feel human again in times where I felt like a zombie and just wanted home, I looked forward to when they were on shift. There was another lady, I'm sure her name was Carmen/ Karlyn (feel really bad I can't remember exactly), but she helped tidy my room and chat to me when I was feeling down.
Dr Gifford was excellent and any time I had questions or worries she was so efficient. When I thought I needed a letter to travel, Dr Gifford made a note to get on the case right away and make this a priority- when I know she would have a million other things to do, I feel this is the kind of patient care people dream of and everyone is certainly a credit to NHS.
I had to have bloods taken every day, 2 sometimes 3 drips attached to me at once, injections daily and for someone who has a phobia of needles everyone was so kind and patient with me at helping me overcome this.
"Everyone was so kind and patient"
