"A jewel in the crown of NHS Fife"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I visited the Day Surgery Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline recently for a rigid cystoscopy procedure and my experience overall was extremely positive!

All staff were friendly and very efficient. My designated nurse, Kirstin, was very attentive and helpful, as were the theatre nurses during my prep. Both the anaesthetist (whose name I cannot recall - apologies!) and my surgeon Mr Kata took time to explain the procedure in full and the procedure was carried out quickly.

The day surgery unit is very quiet and relaxing - I even had my own room. I should also mention that the toast served with tea during recovery has to be the best in the world ever!

Based on this experience I think the day surgery unit at QMH is a jewel in the crown of NHS Fife. Bravo!
