When I first arrived I met Aimee and Leigh, who were lovely. They went through the necessary checks including weighing me and measuring my height.
I was then taken to my room where my bags were searched. Then I see Dr Gale and Anne Marie, I was in there for quite a while where they took my obs, bloods. Discussed my medical history. It was very amusing and Anne Marie helped put me at ease. Went through my medication. Had a giggle with both of them, especially Dr Gale.
I returned to my room where I unpacked. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. I had a Detox years ago which was nothing like this experience which has been amazing. All the staff bend over backwards for you and answer your questions.
I could not believe the Chef Rudolph cooked excellent fresh food everyday.
It was lovely that everyone got my sense of humour. A massive shout out to Warren who helped me with my meditation. I feel the service could be improved by recording Warren delivering Meditation for when he is not on shift to help the other patients.
For a sad situation, it has been wonderful.
They were kind enough to give me a disabled room as I have to walk with a crutch.
You have regular welfare checks to make sure you are okay. It is a fantastic service at the Dame Carol Detoxification Service. I think it would be really useful for anyone in this situation to be referred here.
The other patients are really nice people where you get to hear different stories.
I don't want to go home, if I could stay longer I would.
