Visited the GP for a review after prostrate surgery in August this year. I informed the GP that my life may have been saved by the Nurse who agreed to do a PSA blood test despite the GP and other surgery staff informing me that it could not be done since I did not have symptoms of prostrate related problems.
Strongly recommend that senior male patients be offered the PSA test irrespective of whether they have prostrate related symptoms or not
