"Inguinal hernia mesh repair"

About: General Surgery / Surgical Unit

(as the patient),

The waiting time of 4 hours between admission and going to theatre felt a bit long but all the clinical staff were marvellous. I was visited by nurses, anaesthetists and the surgeon who were all very professional pre-op and post-op.

My partner who who had stayed at Stracathro for the day and was taking me home had nowhere to wait after 5pm though other than the car and I was discharged at 7pm. It was an hour and a quarter drive home and it was too far to go home and back again.

I do feel there should be more detailed information in the hospital leaflet for possible issues that could arise post surgery e.g. genital swelling. Otherwise I could not praise the staff enough, they are doing a fantastic job.
