"Treatment I got"

About: Fife Community Services / Community Cardiac Specialist Service Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiothoracic Surgery Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as the patient),

The story started when I took a heart attack in late January 2023.

I was taken to hospital and after being checked out was taken to c.c.u.

Had ecg. And all that goes with it, saw cardiologists said it was a heart attack ,so after all the tests was given medication and was kept in for five days and discharged.

I was given GTN spray to help with angina attacks, after 5/6 days I took a big attack, was taken back into  c.c.u. was sent home after 3 days ,

So this began 2 months of angina attacks 4/5 times a day.

Had to get ambulance in early June 23 , paramedics came tested me said I was fine but if pain got bad again send for ambulance,

But on the next day I took bad heart attack and sent for ambulance, they took me back to Vik Hospital, kept in for a few days in June, cardiologist came in to say I was being sent to Edinburgh Royal hospital, was taken over by a ambulance to Edinburgh to get ready to have an operation to fix blockages, this was done.

I was kept in for two days and sent home, discharged. In the meantime I got a phone call to say that a nurse would be attending me, so along came Annie....she came in to me for a  few months and she could not be any nicer, told all I needed to know about what went on, she gave me confidence each time she came in, always with a smile and a get me up storey, she is a true believer in telling you how things are, and is a fantastic person to talk to.

I just want to finish this story by adding a few words that a cardiologist said to me the day before I was sent over to Edinburgh Royal to get my operation, their words were - I am sorry, we thought you would get better with the medication we gave you but we were ageist so we are sending you over to Edinburgh. Sorry there is a lot more to this story but I think this is all I have to say, except thank you all for the wonderful job you do. Without your care and attention where would we be.

Thank you once again.
