I was on holiday in Arrochar when I fell off a pavement and twisted my ankle - well, I thought that was it.
Over the next 24 hours it swelled up considerably and had a lot of bruising. My daughter contacted her GP in Arrochar, who saw me immediately and recommended Minor Injuries Unit at Vale of Leven Hospital in Alexandria.
The service here was first class - nurse practitioner Andrew was most efficient and sympathetic. He requested X-rays which confirmed the ankle was broken in 2 places.
Andrew gave us lots of advice and I was fitted with a support boot and I will now be going to my local Fracture Clinic back home in Portsmouth.
Thank you NHS Scotland, especially MIU at Vale of Leven Hospital. What a treat and novelty to be able to see a GP on the same day of asking and not to have to sit and wait for several hours for treatment..
