"Pacemaker fitting"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Went into prep ward, all nurses extremely friendly which puts patients at ease. All worked very hard to maintain good standards. In op room during fitting, music was playing in background and lots of friendly chatter. I think surgeon was very good, nurses kept asking if I was ok.

All done in about 50 minutes and back to ward. Ham and cheese sandwich and a very unripe banana!!

Visited by surgeon to say all went well, nurse checked pacemaker ok, given card to keep in my wallet, arm put in sling to stop me lifting arm up. Had follow up letter already to check pacemaker in 4 weeks.

To sum up:

Professional 10

Care 10

Good caring atmosphere 10

Cleanliness 10

Unripe banana 2

Please pass my thanks on to the team.
