Being a patient with stage 4 lung cancer and multiple myeloma. I made an appointment with my surgery at the beginning of August. Having written a letter insisting on a face to face. I had been experiencing pain on my left side for months. I eventually got an appointment, the Dr concerned showed little interest and arranged an ultrasound. Without any physical examination he speculated it might a hernia. The fact the Dr was going on holiday the following day it would seem inquiring about my ongoing cancer wasn’t a priority. I had an Ultrasound 2 weeks later at the surgery. Having waited now for 2 months for the results there has being no follow up from my GP. My previous GP would have made a brief call to alleviate any worries taking into account my underlying health conditions. I am now at the stage where I feel that I don’t have that primary care and support from this surgery. It was once a remarkable surgery with caring Drs that genuinely offered not just care but a lot of support. With little support for your physical wellbeing or mental health it seems you are just left to manage everything yourself.Having been with the surgery for nearly 20 years it is sad that I now feel I been let down by my surgery since my previous Dr has left to go to a more progressive and caring surgery.
