Last week was memorable for many reasons; the Red weather warning, power cuts at the hospital with generators in use. I was very fortunate on a number of levels; my wife and I managed to get to the hospital at the appointed hour, and unlike many patients whose operations were cancelled, my procedure went ahead as planned. From the moment I arrived, I was dealt with courteously, and with professionalism. I had never met my Plastic Surgeon until just prior to surgery, however he put me at ease instantly. He did indicate that if power was lost from the generators he may have to use head lamps. Just like a Field Hospital! During the operation the scrub nurses kept me engaged and amused. Mr Ng duly continued with the operation, and I was able to glimpse his handiwork. Every nurse that assisted me after surgery were compassionate and most helpful. I was discharged without unnecessary delay and my wife successfully drove home in the teeth of Storm Babet. I am extremely indebted to each and every member of the team at Stracathro for a seamless experience which is unlikely to be surpassed.
