My mum recently needed to attend Antrim Emergency Department in the early hours of the morning. From when we arrived she was treated with kindness and compassion.
I appreciated how I was made to feel welcome and able to sit with her while waiting for treatment in a very busy department. The nurses Melanie and Deborah and the doctor who had direct contact, introduced themselves, were efficient and professional gaining tests and observations not long after she arrived.
The other staff Jayne the sister in charge and Anne were welcoming and kind and caring to all the patients in the ambulance triage area. Nothing was too much trouble.
I am so thankful that my mum was treated so well especially as emergency departments are under so much pressure. This did not impact on my mums care which was first class.
