"Had a good day serving patients in the hub and working on 3 wards"

About: Arnold Lodge Regional Secure Unit

(as a service user),

I feel like today has been productive. I done 3 hours serving patients in the hub as a one off/to stand in for another patient. I done 3 wards and help to IC-stack shelves and keep it all tidy, that was nice to get off the ward. I enjoy working with the staff on that particular shift.

Then I had lunch from a new sandwich company mozzarella and pesto wrap that tastes nice. Once that done I went to the gym for a 2 hour gym cleaning one off shift also to stand in for some other patient. That was nice to care about the gym environment I hoover, mop and wipe clean the appliances and done my shopping that was ok, then I come back to the ward and had a Chinese takeaway once a month is the takeaway night so I had egg rice, chicken curry and prawn sesame toast.

Once that's done I had my tablets/meds then sat in my side room to watch a DVD and chill, I like Hindu films with the subtitles so the staff gave me one Dharam Veer. It hasn't been working though, it paused on its own, anyhow all in all a nice day.

Thank you

Thank you very much for sharing your positive personal experience. I am glad you have taken the time to share your message, and really hope that it inspires other patients at Arnold Lodge and other secure hospitals to give the vocational training opportunity a try. I would also like to thank you for your kind words about the staff you were working with. I am certain they will be delighted to see what you have written.

Please can I say a big thank you to you for standing in for us at such short notice with the vocational work. We very much appreciate that we can rely on certain patients to help us when unforeseen circumstances arise.

Many thanks

Occupational Therapy Manager (N Pope)
