About: Enhanced Care / Community Respiratory Care

I started a 6 week pulmonary rehab class in mulinure armagh with the community respiratory team. Such a brilliant experience for myself. Firstly the rehab nurses etc Shane, Collette and Tina and the rest of the team were outstanding from the start until today the last day of the course.

They catered for each patients individual needs with weights exercises etc. On my personal journey I have lost 7lbs in weight and feel I can do a lot more tasks today than what I could do 6 weeks ago it was not all about the rehab the meeting and mixing of other patients was a real up lift for me and give  me  the confidence to get out of the house and meet people with simular conditions.

Lastly the only downside of the course was that I felt 6 weeks was not long enough and maybe for future courses could be extended to 12 weeks.

I am the Interim Head of Service for specialist primary care teams and I would like to thank you so much for your kind words and lovely feedback for the Armagh and Dungannon Community Respiratory team. I am delighted to hear that Shane, Colette and Tina made your experience so good and they catered for each of you individually. they are devoted to their job and take pride in the delivery of quality care.

It is great to hear the impact pulmonary rehabilitation has made on you and helped to commence your journey to a better place. it is a vital class to help people grow in exercise but also improves health and well being and I am delighted to hear it gave you confidence to get out and about more.

Unfortunately we only have funding and capacity to deliver 6 weeks of exercise and whilst the teams would also love to deliver additional weeks they have commitments to deliver other aspects of care to community patients.

I will make sure to pass this feedback to Shane, Colette and Tina and the wider Community Respiratory teams as it is positive to hear during times of pressures in the NHS.
