"The staff were very helpful"

About: Central Vaccination Service - Dundee

(as the patient),

Centre was very busy and the queue moved at a glacial pace. Chairs were provided to use while queuing, which was good.  However, they were all too low to make it easy for someone like myself to sit down on and get up from.  They need to be replaced with chairs that are higher.

Despite being very busy, the staff were very helpful, respectful, and pleasant to deal with.

One disappointment for me was that the Covid vaccine administered was not the latest developed by Pfizer to target the latest Covid variants, and is likely to be less protective against infection from the currently circulating strains. In this respect, the service missed an opportunity to be better.

Dear MonifiethMan,

I appear to have overlooked this story, so please accept my apologies that it has taken so long to receive a response. I aim to reply in a timely manner, however, it did not happen in this instance.

Thank you for bringing to my attention the difficulty you had with the height of the seating provided. Receiving real world feedback like this, is of immense value and I will endeavour to source an alternative height option if at all possible.

I am delighted to read your positive feedback on the warm professionalism of the staff, and it will be a pleasure to share this with them.

With regards to the vaccination you received, please be reassured that all vaccinations administered in the Central Vaccination Service are the most up to date versions. As a service we are guided by JVCI advice, and the particular vaccination we use at any given time will be the one which provides the highest levels of protection against known current strains of infections.

I do hope my explanation has allayed any concerns about effectiveness, however, please do not hesitate to contact me at the centre if I can be of any further help.
