From the minute we were put in touch with community care team it was obvious mum was in very capable hands. After 4 weeks in DRI mum lost 1/4 of her body weight and weighed less than 6 stone.
A corneal transplant 10 days after discharge left her weak, fragile, in pain, unable to walk or toilet herself after being fully independent only months before.
Community OT, physio and district nurse have all been outstanding. Professional but friendly, reliable and motivating for mum. She can now walk indoors unaided, walk up + down stairs, walk outside on mobility walker, make her own breakfast/simple lunch. Wash/dress/toilet herself.
Such progress. I cannot thank all involved enough. Mum starts fall prevention group soon and is looking forward to gaining even more mobility and strength.
