About: Craigavon Area Hospital

(as a service user),

There are two disabled toilets in entrance to Craigavon hospital. One out of use and one used by all and one toilet for women and men only.

The facilities in the disabled toilet I could not use for my mum in a wheelchair as there was nowhere to hold onto the bars as they are not open bar. Nowhere for her to put her fingers around the bar!

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience in Craigavon Area Hospital.

I am sorry to hear your mum was unable to use the disabled toilet in the foyer and that one of the toilets was out of use. Unfortunately a toilet was out of order while waiting for necessary works to be completed. This has been escalated to Estates who are arranging for the works to be completed.

In future if a toilet is out of use, staff will display a poster advising of other areas to go to.

If there is a toilet out-of-order, posters are now displayed directing patients/visitors to an alternative toilet.
