I had my blood taken for tests, which I get done every 2 months. Nurse was excellent. Taken on time , no problems.
Jubilee Hospital is in the same building as the Health Centre. Now new procedures the last 2 months I have to telephone Aberdeen for a blood test. The nurse now has to come from Aberdeen I think for 2 days here.
Before, I phoned the Health Centre and a nurse there took it. Now if local patient need a blood test done under their local Dr, the patient calls the Health Centre and a local nurse does it. But as I am under a consultant in ARI (Hematology), I have to phone Aberdeen to book it and a nurse has to come out to take it.
Where in heaven's name is this progress, cost, environmental pollution from wasted car journey? It beggers belief. No reason given as you're a haematology patient. It is all one NHS or is it not?
If I wanted result I called 24 hours later. But results do not go to Health Centre. If I want results I have to call haematology, speak to a Macmillan agent, not a nurse, they find out and call me back later. Progress, I think not.
I have no problem with actually blood test or the blood letting at the Health Centre or Jubilee Hospital. All seem to be on same corridor. But supposed to use different doors?
