About: GP Out of Hours service / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

(as a service user),

I had severe back pain and ended up crawling around the house as I couldn't put any weight on my lower back at all. I eventually called out of hours and was seen by a fantastic trainee nurse practitioner called Craig (I think, apologies if I've muddled his name up). He was so empathetic, he explained everything thoroughly and all his examinations were explained beforehand. He also "de-medicalised" all the jargon which is a skill in itself. This helped me understand what I needed to. I honestly felt listened to and not rushed away. I'm so grateful for his professional and kind bedside manner. Thank you!

I am so pleased to hear that Craig has been a wonderful help to you when you were quite clearly in significant pain. It must have been so comforting to have things explained in non-medical terms so that you could fully understand. I imagine this put you at ease.
