My daughter was admitted as an emergency trauma case to the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. From the paramedic teams who attended initially at her primary school, to the nurses and medics in the acute trauma centre, the porter who took her to the ward, the staff on ward 3c, and the orthopaedic surgical team, the anaesthetist, physios and acute orthopaedic trauma liaison team post discharge - the service and excellent health care is to be commended.
At every point of what was a truly horrific time, we felt cared for in safe hands and it was clear all of the above individuals roles carried out their job with such professionalism, genuine care and empathy. We truly have such a special thing - NHS- we need to do more to support everything that it does.
